I DID IT! I DID IT! I DID IT!
I DID IT! I DID IT! I DID IT!

I spent the last hour of my work day being terrified about telling the GM I was interested in a management position. The owner came in during that hour, and my nerves got worse. They were surprisingly not overwhelming, though.

There's this quote on my user info page, "courage is not the absence of fear, but the judgment that something else is more important than fear" (paraphrased). So I kept telling myself this. I kept telling myself "this is more important than my fear, this is more important than my fear".

So I went to clock out and the owner was on the phone, and their son was in the office, and the GM was talking to me about the time clock issues, and I just left after I clocked out. It just felt like the wrong time. I went outside, got in my car, and sat there. I kept telling myself to go and that I could tell them tomorrow, but after a few moments, I made myself go back inside and back to the office, doing my little mantra: "This is more important than my fear, this is more important than my fear".

The owner was off the phone when I came back in, and both him and the GM (his wife, for those of you not paying attention) were sitting there. Their son was still there, but really? He's 18 and barely does any work around there. I seriously doubt there was a problem speaking in front of him. I said something like "I don't know what positions are left to be filled at the new hotel, but I just wanted to let you know that if there was any sort of front desk management positions, I would be very interested."

His response? "I know. Trust me, we've got our eyes on everyone." I think by the way he said it, that's a good sign. And he's been telling me to set the bar, etc. I hope I'm not getting my hopes up, but it looks good. :)

I probably made a fool of myself, though. I had no pockets so I was clutching my keys in front of myself, and the first thing the GM said to me was "what's wrong?" Which either means she assumed something was wrong that I would come back inside, or that I looked terrified. Probably both. And fuck if I remember what I said after he said they were watching everyone. I don't remember how I said goodbye. Nothing. I just remember what I said about the position, and his reply, and the rest was a blur of omgjafjHFK;GHjfk;HGJHHJK;AShjk;omg.

But I did it. I did it! A year ago I wouldn't have been able to. It's almost a sign of all the progress I've made.

Got a lot accomplished today! :) I returned a Xmas sweatshirt and got a nice shirt instead. Got my driver's license renewed (the husband paid). We got the dogs (and cat) a giant dog bed with a Xmas gift card, and currently only the cat and one of the dogs is using. The second dog seems entirely unsure of this new addition to our apartment. LOL Oh, and we got 50% off a heart shaped box of chocolates, and Cadburry Creme Eggs! Omgguystheyaresooogood.

...Aaaaaaand I just lost all will to finish writing this. It was supposed to be an upbeat post, but I've suddenly hit a wall of depression again. Fun times. My sponsor and Innerslytherin both have told me that my days off seem the hardest for me. It sure as hell isn't because I miss my job. I thought maybe it was because I wasn't keeping myself occupied, so I went out and did a lot of stuff I'd been putting off, but that doesn't seem to have staved off the depression either. Maybe next Wednesday I try exercise? *sigh* I need more local friends. And I need a bipolar tag. Why don't I already have one?

Dude, do I tag this with "yayz!" or "woes" or both? *headdesk*

Ugh & YAY!

I woke up at 3am, stayed in bed until I was sure I wouldn't get back to sleep, which was at 3:50. Since that time I made a grocery list and cleaned my bathroom and kitchen. Let me repeat, because it bears repeating. I cleaned. From 4:30-5am. Wtf, people. Wtf. So ugh, yeah, I'm going to regret this tonight. I'm already regretting it, actually, and it's only 5:15. I don't work until 7.

BUT! K is taking a leave of absence (and I've heard it's supposed to be a long one). The owner has been around a lot lately, and I had a feeling something was going on. Now his wife is taking the GM role. She's super nice on a personal level (I don't know how she is as a manager, but she has to be better than K)!

I found out last night, and felt like I'd won the freaking lottery! I would be more excited to go back to work right now if I wasn't so freaking tired.

The lovely [livejournal.com profile] cordeliadelayne wrote me a Xmas gift fic, and it is wonderful, as her writing always is. I know I have several Rossi/Prentiss shippers on my flist, and Cordy doesn't crosspost, so I wanted to make sure you guys saw it!

Sweet Comfort, Rossi/Prentiss, G
Summary: Prentiss and Rossi deal with the aftermath of a difficult case.

No, I did not look at this ahead of time. And the surprise was WELL WORTH IT. OMG IT'S GORGEOUS HOTCH/ROSSI ART, GUYS!!! Please go look at it and give my artist the love and praise she deserves. GO NOW! (Might be mildly not safe for work.)

Okay, guys, I have seen [livejournal.com profile] innerslytherin do posts like these in the past, a sort of timeline of events in an RPG she's participated in. So I'm stealing her idea. We have a plot line in our RPG ([livejournal.com profile] bau_rpg) that is a slow build up toward eventual Rossi/Prentiss (with me writing Rossi, and [livejournal.com profile] innerslytherin writing Prentiss), and I thought I'd post this, not only for anyone who might want to read it, but for personal reference. :D These are all the scenes leading up to Rossi/Prentiss so far, and we are finally getting closer to them being together! Yay!

(Some of these scenes coincide with the game's own version of the Foyet case, which just has a couple resolution scenes left to post. If you'd like to read the case, it's at this tag. The game is canon through the end of 'To Hell and Back', minus the very end where Hotch is attacked. Beyond most of that episode, the game is AU.)

So on with the Rossi/Prentiss story line:

Rossi/Prentiss rpg love )

All you Rossi/Prentiss shippers, do not fear; the Rossi/Todd will not last long!

If you'd like to watch [livejournal.com profile] bau_rpg, you are more than welcome to! Comments are disabled at the comm, but we have [livejournal.com profile] bau_rpg_readers where you can post to comment to your hearts desire, if you'd like. And we would always love new members! All the team is claimed, but we would love some of the supporting characters to be there (Elle, Haley, Ambassador Prentiss, Gideon, or anyone else you can think of!).

New Musics!

[livejournal.com profile] cmfanficawards nominations went up a bit ago, and let me just say I am floored! (ETA: Holy shit, I did not just mean to parrot [livejournal.com profile] innerslytherin's words, but there's not a better description I can think of. Ooops.) My nominations:

There are links to all of these at the nomination post, which I linked above. Right now, it's 3am my time, and I'm too zombie-like to add them. I might later, though. (ETA: links added :))

I just have a few things to say...

1. First and foremost, OMFG GUYS THANK YOU SO MUCH TO ANYONE WHO NOMINATED THESE FICS. I was expecting one or two, as I was notified of one, and had someone else tell me they were nominating me for something, but this many? It's blown me away! (And made me blush a little. Just a little. ^_~) THANK YOU ALL x TEN!

two more under cut )

4. Lastly, as I was very proud of Worthy of the Word, even if it occasionally gave me headaches, so I am even more proud that it got nominated in two categories. It was, honestly, the only solo nomination I was holding out any hope for, so yes. Yes. This. *beams stupidly* Thank you anon nominator(s)! Very, very much! :D
