Song of the Day #20: Rid of Me - PJ Harvey
Nov. 8th, 2009 09:45 pmI love her. I went to see her live when I was in either my freshman or sophomore year of high school. Twice in the same night, actually. >.> Me and my friend Fred (a nickname for a female friend, and I can't even remember her real name now) went with her sister to see her show downtown in San Fransisco. Her sister had heard of a second show in a small club later that night, which she wasn't sure was 18 and over or not. It was. So... me, my friend, and her sister (who was over 18, but wasn't going to leave us outside) all watched from outside of the club, taking turns through the tiny cracks in the windows (they were mostly covered). To say we all loved her back then was an understatement. Oh, and for the last couple songs, the club people took pity on us and let us in. LOL I still love her now, but I'm not crazy obsessed anymore. I guess most of us were kinda insane at that age, though.
ETA: This icon? Is PJ. After I posted this, I scrolled own my flist just a couple entries and saw it. The user's keywords were lyrics from this song. Considering 1) I just posted this and came across the icon less than a minute later, 2) it's an utterly gorgeous icon, even it it happened not to be her, and 3) I was planning on getting rid of my Glee icons anyway, I'm taking it as a sign that I needed this icon on some deep spiritual level. *nods sagely*
