Looking back, did you write more fics than you thought you would this year, less than you thought, or about what you predicted?
Holy fucking hell, MORE! I was never expecting to discover that innerslytherin and I could be so prolific together! I would have had more solo-written fic if I wasn't writing with her, and longer solo fic at that, but the sheer word count of our co-written fic (see below) is shocking even to me!

Where did you publish/archive your stories?
Here, cm_slash, morganreid_cm, pervywerewolf and lupin_snape(on IJ)... probably other places. I started to update my Skyehawk, but didn't get very far (I lost steam somewhere in the middle of the massiveness of Miles to Go). Same goes for my Journalfen.

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2008?
Well, CM is a whole new fandom to me. I kept thinking my HP muses would come back. They didn't. Once I started writing in CM, though, I would have never expected not to settle down with an OTP, or that, in addition, I would become such a massive ship whore. The only pairing that I resisted writing that surprised me is Reid/Rossi. Now I just want to cuddle them. :)

Miles To Go Before We Sleep. Hands down. Not only does it have the most commets, but it continues to get comments sporadically, and I keep seeing it recced (or hearing from people that they have/do rec it to other people).

Dude, we got lucky first CM fic out. We should just quit. Nowhere to go but downhill now. ;)

Story most under appreciated by the universe?
The Expansion of Two Natures. The response is making me kind of sad. Of course, it's not fully posted and we've been sporadic in getting it up, so I am fully aware that part of the lack of excitement is due to that.


But really, our Hotch/Rossi stories tend to get the fewest comments. It used to surprise me, because I think Hotch/Rossi makes more canon sense than Reid/Rossi... but I've come to accept that people in this fandom would read about Reid fucking anyone. People in this fandom would read about Reid fucking himself with a cucumber and be pleased as punch. :)

Story that could have been better?
A Better Plan. Mostly because it was PWP and not that exciting for PWP. Somehow that fic went unintentionally to nothing but porn, when I don't think either of us really think Hotch/Rossi needs to be super porny. The draw there for me (and us, I think) is in the comfort, not the hawt.

Sexiest story?
Eye of Newt and Toe of Frog. Submissive Morgan (not outrageously so, btw) + Chocolate sauce. Mmmmmm. *drools* ...I think Gang Aft Agley is a close second.

It's so weird to think about just posted fic, though, because we have hotter (imho) porn written that isn't yet posted...

Most fun story?
Puddle Wonderful. We got two gorgeous men absolutely filthy, and let a toddler beat one of them up. FUN!

Story with single sweetest moment?
Hmmm... It's probably either the stairwell scene in Conscious of Our Treasures, or the hot chocolate scene and last scene in Puddle Wonderful. (Ever-Fixed Mark had a million sweetest moment, but sadly, I don't think many of my favourites [haha--slipped into Brit spellings just thinking about it!] were ever posted.)

The story that made you cry?
The Expansion of Two Natures was the worst, I think, but Miles To Go got me too, and I cried a few times writing Ever-Fixed Mark. I still can't re-read certain scenes from The Expansion of Two Natures without bawling, though.

Hardest story to write?
Miles To Go Before We Sleep. One, because it was our first venture into the fandom. Two, because it was difficult and frustrating and hard dealing with Morgan's abuse issues. And three, because that was back when I thought I had to do two hours of research on random knowledge every time Reid spoke. Such a pain. My Reid is way more relaxed now, which may or may not be super canon (I think he IS relaxing in canon a lot, though), but it makes me want to tear my hair out less.

Easiest story to write?
It's almost always easy to write with innerslytherin. We get stuck and in funks sometimes, but usually not, and it feels like every new fic we work on becomes our new favorite fic. LOL So my answer is Puddle Wonderful, but that might just be because it's so recent. :P

Most overdue story?
Well, An Intimate Alliance of Contradictions is a 62k wip last updated in May. Not sure it will ever be finished, actually, which is sort of sad, considering there really isn't much more it needs. If I can poke my HP muse enough, MAYBE I'll finish it this May. Maybe.

Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
I started writing with a partner, switched fandoms, became a massive multi-shipper, co-wrote an ending to a canon cliffhanger (Miles To Go contains our own resolution to Lo-fi), dipped my toe into femslash for probably only the third time since I've been in fandom, written more "kid fic", which I'd only done once before... I'm sure there's more, and I've learned more than I care to spend typing out...

Do you have any fanfic goals for the New Year?
OMFG do you see that word count below?! I don't think I need to set work count goals, unless the goal is to write LESS. LOL I do want to finish my WIPSs though, and write fewer, but longer solo fic, rather than handfuls of ficlets. I'm also nudging innerslytherin towards stretching with our pairings even more, to JJ/Hotch, Garcia/Rossi, JJ/Emily, Rossi/Prentiss, etc...

Reading your meme was really interesting. I love hearing what authors think about their own work, which stories they like the best and which ones they think should have gotten more response/less responses. You are pretty spot-on with the Reid-love with the fandom--I admit that I'm guilty of that. But this?
