BUT TEH SECKS!

I... can't even remember what else I was going to say. POOR HOTCH. Well, the thing about Jack not knowing him was worse... but TEH SECKS???? DDDD:

Um. I so didn't take it that way. What makes you think that? Then again, I also watch with two people who can't be quiet during TV shows.

Foyet goes on about stabbing being linked to impotence, then says something like 'i wonder what you'll think about that now', and stabs him pretty low. O.O

Yeah, I think his implication was that Hotch isn't going to want to posit that, since they're both men and Hotch won't want to consider himself gay.

Hmm, no, I can't see that. I don't think Foyet is that dumb to think Hotch would think that. Also, if he was implying that, it would have still been substituted rape, not gay sex.

Foyet's not dumb, but if he's like 90% of the straight men I know, he's not going to want to be thought of as gay. So he's not going to want Hotch thinking that stabbing is a substitute for rape.

Anyway, this is a network show. They're not going there with even tastefully implied rape of a male character, especially the MAIN character, of a show.

Um. I don't think he emasculated him. Given what he said, I think, er. That that was followed by a rape.

Because he was trying to prove to Hotch that he wasn't impotent. Making *Hotch* impotent, er. Wouldn't do that.

That is a possibility I considered, but right after he said it he stabbed Hotch pretty low. He could have been implying that being impotent himself would change his perspective. But of course, he could have been raped. Either thing could have caused the way he acted in the hospital.

And because the fade to white combined with skeevy voice intonation and body language combined with the things mentioned above... To me it spells "tasteful" implied rape, in the same way they implied and then a year later confirmed Reid's addiction problems.

I think hiis addiction problems were pretty obvious before we ever saw him in that meeting, actually.

They were damn obvious to anyone paying attention, but I was just using it as an example of how they've done similar things in the past. That they both heavily imply over time, and then later actually confirm.

I was watching it going, WHAT DID HE JUST DO WITH THAT KNIFE????

However, I went to a penetrative place with the idea. Which is just as bad, and *definitely* would entail not being back to work by next episode.

LOL Well, they really aren't medically accurate with the people coming back to work after injuries. Really, Hotch should have to take mandatory leave, I think, and Reid after Hankel, and Emily after that compound, and Hotch after the car bomb... but it never happens that way in FBI TV Land.

I took it to be more tastefully implied rape followed the stabbing.

And considering the fact that Prentiss read his chart, and then asked him if he WANTED to talk about what happened, rather than trying to get him to talk about what happened, and didn't push when he claimed that he didn't remember anything after the first stab wound, it should be interesting to see where they go with it.

Either way.... OMFG.

I think my head exploded.

That's what I thought too! All of the boards seem to be suggesting that it was rape (or else nothing at all - an empty threat). But that last stab was a little too low....

And then following it with the convo with Prentiss (and she was all eggshells - which, yeah, could just be plain old 'you were attacked in your home', but to me read something more)... I thought it was their subtle way of saying that that's what happened (and subsequently, "this is really going to change the nature of the pr0n-fics")....

I wanted to think rape (rather than emasculation), but at the same time, was disturbed by the v. short amount of time between Foyet's words and Foyet's next movement/facial expression - i.e. I don't think it was enough time to get out his... etc. (Oh my God, I can't believe I'm even discussing this). And now I don't know what to think.

But you could actually be right. *Cries*.
