Song of the Day #23: Hands - Jewel

Okay, so... I don't actually like Jewel. But I did say first random song on iTunes is the one that gets posted, didn't I?

I own this song because of a mix from innerslytherin. The first sign of how obsessively we could write together came in the form of an RPG where our characters (Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew from Harry Potter) were romantically involved. We fell in love with the ship. We fell in love writing with each other. The rest is history. Anyway, we both made our own Remus/Peter mixes, and this was on hers. So I suppose in a way this song has meaning to me, even if I would never own it otherwise.

Also, for you CM people, we would have never got involved with CM if it wasn't for this RPG. I had just randomly found MGG on a played-by icon comm and picked him to represent my Remus in the game. We sort of found our way to CM from there. (And YAY! I actually have a relevant post to use my old RPG!Remus/Peter icon!)

I love Jewel's 1st album sooooooo much but nothing since I love connecting music to my writing. Its such an adventure to figure out which songs make the characters and pairings in my head tingle. Jewel songs do make that list.

I loved her first album, but the second one didn't grab me as much outside of this song. I like her track "Under the Water" from The Craft soundtrack too.

I freaking LOVE Lupigrew. I miss our boys.

Hmm, MGG would make a good young Remus.

I like a few of Jewel's songs individually, but I can't listen to more than one of her songs in a row, so I don't think that really counts as liking her as an artist.
