There is this woman in our hotel that keeps calling me baby. Ugh, if you don't know me, don't call me baby. I don't care if you're a man or a woman. In fact, even if you do know me, don't call me baby. The only people who can get away with that are my parents. I am their baby, you know? It's just... I don't know. Condescending? That doesn't seem like the right word, but I'm not sure what the right word is.

So, I am at work today. My day would be half over right now, but I'm staying late tonight. They asked me to stay last night and tonight, but I had plans to write with innerslytherin last night. Tonight I have no excuse, and the guy who called out is out because his parents are both sick with cancer, and he needs to take care of his mother. I can't blame him. I'm still sort of regretting agreeing to come in, but whatever.

Another hot day today. Supposed to get near 100, but fortunately I'll be inside. The ac at work is sorta lame and won't keep up, but getting up to the 80s in here is better than the 90s out there.

I really hate when people call me baby and boo....boo is especially annoying. I'm also not partial to sweetheart. Calling a stranger these things is beyond me. I usually give senior citizens a pass on sweetheart.

I hope the AC at work gets a little better. Its ass hot here as well, I think I'm in the process of melting.

I once had a woman on a call at work call me "baby". At first I thought she was saying "lady" and thought it was rather rude. Then I realised. It was odd. I'm more used to men doing that to me on the phone than woman.

I have to admit, I tend to use "hon" and "sweetie" a fair bit--but usually not with strangers. I blame it on working with small children and needing something to call them when I can't remember their name. It just sorta bleeds thru into the rest of my life. *lol*

Oh, when I worked call center, I got it all, so I feel you. People seem to think that because you're not face to face, you can get away with more. lol

HAHA! Yeah, I can see that. I would totally do that with kids.

Oh, and as 'hon' and 'sweetie' go, sometimes it's a regional thing. I notice southern women call people those a lot more often. lol
