Sep. 24th, 2007 03:06 pmMY iPod JUST GOT SOAKED IN WATER!!! MY BABY! WHAT DO I DO?!?! *places it futilely in dish drying rack* I was trying out the husband's new bike, and was wearing his camelbak hydration pack, and was using my iPod as a timer. As soon as I started actually biking, the camelbak leaked every last ounce of water out into the pouch my iPod was in (and down my back, arse, and legs). I can see water in the display window but it doesn't seem to have any way to drain out! *weeps* I haven't even had it a year! *wails*
This does nothing to ease the foul mood I've been in for the last two days. I know what part of the cause is, but I can't do anything about it without shooting myself in the foot, and that makes it worse.

Date: 2007-09-24 07:37 pm (UTC)Desiccant ASAP!
Date: 2007-09-24 08:07 pm (UTC)ASAP - Fill a tupperware/gladlock bowl with uncooked rice, and bury your device in it for a few days, seal it up, maybe even sit it on a slightly warm place. The rice will absorb the moisture in the air and pull the water out of your device.
Silica is a better desiccant than rice, so if you can find it, use that. Some of the crystal kitty litter is 100% silica (the stuff in those little packets in medicine bottles, etc.)
I've heard you should not turn it back on until you KNOW it's dry.
