Re: tree fall down go boom
Jul. 10th, 2008 05:23 pmGot up today and it's raining buckets. Last night there was no rain or wind at all, so I guess if the tree hadn't fallen last night, it probably would have today. And I swear I heard more tree crackage when it was raining today, but maybe now I'm just paranoid, as this tree seemed aimed directly at our apartment.
I waited for the rain to slow up, and then wandered around the building to get a better look at what happened in the light of day.
Coming around the side of the building, this is the view.

We get so much rain run off right behind our apartment that the grass doesn't really grow, so it's always nice and muddy when it rains. I was sliding around all over the place today. My apartment's bottom level, farthest from us in this picture. You know, the one with the tree smashed up against the door.

A shot of the stairs coming down the back of the building. Niiiice.
Upon further inspection, I find it wasn't an entire tree that fell, just a large branch offshoot from another tree... a tree that had apparently been topped off because it was already dying. Thanks apartment management for just sticking a Bandaid on that problem.

And look how pretty my patio is!

I know where the best hiding place is next time I play hide and seek!
