Nov. 4th, 2008 10:07 pmAs called by CNN and NBC:
OBAMA!
ETA: I AM WATCHING MCCAIN'S CONSESSION SPEECH! *SQUEEE*
ETA2: DUDE. How wrong is it that I've been slashing long enough now that I was watching Obama and Biden wave at the crowd with their arms around each other, and went, 'Omg, I need Obama/Biden slash nao!'
*cough* No, but really, REALLY... Oh, oh, the 106 year old woman. God. His speech...
Amazing. I can't stop grinning.
ETA3: Also,
aoibhe linked this in her journal, and I meant to re-link, as it made me cry. Obviously, I was a bit distracted, but here: The courage of San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders. I have no words. I want to hug him.
P.S. How amazing is it that Gay Americans were included in Obama's speech? I want to hug him too.

Date: 2008-11-05 05:32 am (UTC)He mentioned something about the men and women in Iraq who voted and were watching I just lost it. And then when he was all about where he's going and what he plans to do and how he's going to listen to the people when they disagree, and oh, my gosh.
His puppy comment made me laugh. And his best friend comment made me sigh and WHERE WAS AARON BECAUSE YOU KNOW HE WAS THERE!
Did you see Oprah crying? *sniffle* I'm not a fan of hers, but that made me smile.

Date: 2008-11-05 06:04 am (UTC)God, I just... that whole bit about the 106 year old woman, and all the change that has happened just in her life time. My God. I'm just... not very coherent about it yet, obviously. :D
Aw, and yes! Puppy! *G* That was cute.

Date: 2008-11-05 11:42 am (UTC)I was watching the news closely today. And I think a hell of a lot of other Australians were too. This is a momentous day for America....and for the world as a whole.
Obama's speech really moved me. I was crying. I just kept thinking...OMG I'm witnessing History and then I started crying again.
Such an amazing day!
