Eeeeeee! The reveals for
cm_exchange went up while I was in bed last night! I didn't post it, but I still feel a little like Santa! LOL
>I realize I gave my gift a little rec before, and I had actually meant to elaborate on it as well as rec a couple more fics. I didn't quite get to it/them before the reveals, but my WONDERFUL gift was Coming Home, and was written by
nebula99! It's really one of the better Reid gen fics I've read, and features Diana Reid (which is always, ALWAYS a plus for me, when it's done well), who is just so perfect in it. I was alternately grinning and wanting to snuggle Spencer as I read it, so if that's your cuppa, you should definitely take a read.
On the opposite side of the fandom pool, I had also meant to rec Welcome (To The Jungle), which was written by the fabulous
aoibhe. It's... disturbingly sexy. That's really the most accurate description I can think of. *G* It's smutty, drug fic done so well--you know, the kind where you feel absolutely dirty reading it, but it's too hot to click the back button. Mmmm..... So, if you like that and can take the warnings, go read it!
Also, I already recced it before, but I am now relieved that I'm allowed to grumble at
elekanahmen publicly for making me like femslash. *grumbles*
I sort of have some babbling in my head about the fic that I solo wrote for the exchange. I may or may not actually post it. It feels really self-indulgent to talk about my own fics sometimes, but if I had been revealed as the author when I did my year end fic meme, I would have babbled about it then. So maybe.
Of course, I said the same thing about my
snupin_santa fic last year, and never actually talked about it, and that fic was ten times harder to write than this one. That fic had to grow five thousand words between the first and second beta because it just wasn't cutting it yet, and made me want to fling myself off cliffs. I was starting to lose my love of the fandom by the time I was finishing writing it, and I swear, I thought that fic would end me. ;) Oddly enough, it's one of the ones I am the most proud of now. *G*
One last thing I want to say before I pimp my own fics, is that overall, I am very, VERY impressed with the fics that came out of this fest. To everyone who participated, if you're reading this, THANK YOU. It was wonderful.
AND NOW FOR THE FICS I WROTE/CO-WROTE!
Title: Worthy of the Word
Author:
severity_softly
Pairing: Hotch/Reid
Rating: NC-17/FRAO
Word Count: ~9,000
Warnings/spoilers: Mild spoilers for Damaged (mostly just for the tail end) and major spoilers for Elephant's Memory.
Summary: Hotch and Reid get a push towards each other from an unexpected source, but often, it's easier to admit to what you want than it is to actually take it.
A/N: Written for
slash_girl for
cm_exchange! A few lines of dialogue have been lifted directly from Elephant's Memory. Thanks to
nebula99 for the beta and reassurance that my giftee would not read it and go O.o, and to
innerslytherin for the beta and her sheer fabulousness (and all the hand holding when this fic made me bite my nails)!
(Worthy of the Word)
AND! The pinch hit!
Title: Uncertain Terrain
Authors:
innerslytherin and
severity_softly
Pairing: Hotch/Morgan
Rating: NC-17/FRAO
