Firstly, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to [livejournal.com profile] slash_girl! Hope you have a good one!

Secondly, ashjgkhas, PIMPAGE!

Have you ever read a fic you enjoyed and thought, "That was awesome! But if I'd done it, I would have told it from another character's POV/made it darker than it was/set it in another country/etc"? Well, now [livejournal.com profile] cm_remix gives you a chance to do just that!

[livejournal.com profile] cm_remix is a Criminal Minds Fanfic Remix Challenge that will be starting to take sign ups soon!

If you've written at least three 1,000 word (minimum) fics in the Criminal Minds fandom, you can sign up to have your fics remixed! You'll be matched up with another author whose fic you will then rewrite! Sign ups start on Valentine's Day, assignments are sent out by the end of the month, and you will have three months to complete your remix.

For more information on [livejournal.com profile] cm_remix, please see the complete rules, information, and important dates HERE. We hope you'll come join the fun!

Now, go! Shoo! Go join and get ready for sign ups! You know you all want to. :) (And it would be GREATLY appreciated, if you want to, if you all pimped this far and wide around CM fandom! :3)

I have a question, having never taken part in a remix before, since I am generally in fandoms of ten or less (CSI doesn't count; they blackballed me years ago). Does an unfinished series count toward the 'three fics' total? Because I *think* I've only written two stand-alones that are worth anything.

I am only asking hypothetically, of course. In the interest of science and all that.

As in two one shots and a series? I hadn't considered that, but I just added these notes to the rules:

You may offer a series/WIP, even if it's unfinished, provided you don't mind the possibility of someone else finishing your story in their own way (as each submitted fic must be a completed one-shot.) An offered series/chaptered wip counts as ONE submission, though remixers may chose to remix/expand upon only one part.

and

If your assigned suthor has listed a series/wip (completed or not), you may choose to remix all of it, or an individual chapter, so long as the fic you submit is a complete, stand alone one shot. e.g. you may remix and an unfinished series and add your own ending, remix one chapter and expand it into a stand alone fic, etc.

Each finished remix must be a complete, stand alone one shot, and it may not be part of a series you are already working on, or a universe you have already created.

Does that answer the question? :)

Well, I suppose that at least partially makes up for some of the snow? :)

And awesome! Thanks!

That answers my question quite handily, thanks :) I'm sorry to be difficult, I don't even know if I'm up for it, to be honest. I'm considering it, though. Maybe it would shake loose whatever block I've developed where this fandom is concerned (performance anxiety, mostly, I think).

Thanks :) Truth is I am hung up on a request from someone on my friends list, as well as the next part of my series. Which happens with every series, but I always feel guilty.

I occasionally get stuck on requests for no good reason at all. I'm actually hung up on the lasy few one sentence requests, and dude, they're just ONE SENTENCE. lol

I've been trying not to post series/wips as I write them lately. I find once people start commenting that they like them, I get anxious about completing them because then I feel like people are expecting something out of the rest of it. Which they are, I suppose, but it makes me freeze up. And then, yes, the guilt. I still feel guilty that I never finished my very first series, and that was three years ago!

It is hard to compact a fic into one sentence! I would get stuck too.

I carry SO MUCH guilt about unfinished projects that I'm almost over it at this point? I still get pangs, but then I remind myself it's just fandom and get on with my life :)
