As soon as Dr. Kimura walked out of Spencer's room, Derek got up and moved to Spencer's bed. She'd be back too quickly, he knew, needing to run tests to make sure Spencer had no lasting effects from the infection that nearly killed him. None of that mattered right now.

"I can't believe you ate my Jello," Spencer mumbled, but he turned his face into Derek's touch when Derek cupped his jaw.

Derek smiled, his gaze warm. "I wasn't leaving this bed to get food, and I was hungry," he said. "And you're in no condition to fight with me right now, so just deal with it."

Spencer snorted. "I can always fight with you," he said, and grinned weakly. The sight of that expression on Spencer's face sent a thrill of happiness and relief through Derek. Spencer was really okay.

"I wanted to be in there with you, pretty boy," he murmured, his thumb stroking Spencer's cheek.

"That's the stupidest thing you've ever said."

Derek laughed. "Yeah, well..." He leaned down and brushed his lips to Spencer's. "I was so scared."

"Me too." Spencer cleared his throat. "Thank you for not letting me give up."

"I didn't have any other choice." Derek kissed him again.

"The nurses are going to see us kissing."

"Don't care. You almost died."

"Mmm." Spencer tilted his chin for another kiss, then said, "Where is everyone?"

"They're on their way. JJ went to see Henry, though," Derek said, and Spencer nodded, understanding.

He closed his eyes and made an uncomfortable noise. "I feel like shit."

Derek chuckled, his fingers stroking through Spencer's hair. "You don't want much, do you? You're gonna live, and you're complaining about a few aches and pains?" Spencer made a face at him, and Derek laughed again, then lowered his voice. "I promise you, gorgeous, when we get home, I'll make it all better."

I haven't see the episode yet but I'm loving all the info and the wonderful fics about it.
Every episode should have, at least, one scene where Morgan and Reid could kiss at will, lol.

I don't slash any of the gang from CM but this was quite lovely.

Someone mentioned the abundance of fic from this ep (and it just aired four days ago!) and I think part of the problem was the ending. They were all so concerned about Reid that Hodge had to call them down and then Morgan was the only one who came to the hospital to see him? That just did not sit well. (And don't get me started on last week's ep, where Reid made like a magician and vanished for the last half of the show)

At the very least, Morgan should have murmured that the rest of the gang was down the hall. I'll give you JJ rushing home to Henry but the rest of them. Where the f**k were they going that they couldn't take a few minutes to visit a critically ill teammate???

Yeah, Morgan should have said they were there or on their way, or even Prentiss and Rossi could have mentioned going to the hospital as they left. Something!

But another part of why so much fic was because the episode was slashy as all get out. *G*

This is FANTASTIC ! ! ! ! ! This one [of many] line says so much (wink).

First, Morgan calms Reid's fear of 'feeling like sh . . .' implies 'looking like
it'. Derek does this with one single word . . . 'Gorgeous' (smile). And
with 'lowered voice' . . .

Derek lets Reid know that no matter what happened, he was going to
make all BETTER (smile). Knowing Derek, I am SURE he WILL (wink).

EXCELLENT, 'S' (smile) ! ! ! !

Such a sweet little ficlet. Probably one of my favorite of the fics that I've read dealing with the aftermath of the episode.

Truth be told, I haven't come across a great deal of Hotch/Reid for that episode. The fics seem to be primarily Morgan/Reid.

I do kind of like the idea of Rossi being all pouty because he had to deal with Prentiss and her issues about lying instead of getting to be near Reid.

Then again, Reid goes well with just about everyone and I do like that the episode had a Morgan/Reid tint to it.

I totally overloaded on this episode. My brain was going, ehem, allow me to put it in quotes:

"OHMYGOD, REID+ANTHRAX=BAD PLAN! OH MY GOD, MORGAN/REID! OHMY GOD HOTCH/REID! DON'T DIE, REID!"

And then, somewhere in my overworking brain was this:

"I know good things will come of this. And those good things will come in the form of fics *fangirly sigh*"

do you know the worst part of all this?
amplification part 4 or 5
That's all I get tt see of it until maybe two or 3 weeks time when
some highly public spirited saint of a person puts all five parts up on youtube!!!
I tell you it's not just Gordon Brown and the Recession that make living in the UK so crap sometimes. Still what I have seen, so far, Emily saying to Rossi, "Don't you Emily me" which immediately made me think of you two an your totally fab Rossi and Emily series!! And deliciously damp Reid saying "I'm about to get naked" Which I sincerely hope to be having dreams about that for some time to come!!!! Makes me love this series so much. anwy this was really sweet and evne tho I haven't seen the ending this story makes it better i

PS I hope it was okay to use Vegas in the title of my little thing, I know you used it for your story about Rossi and Emily, and it didn't occurr to me utiil just now maybe I should have asked?
