nebula99.)
When Moss kissed him, Roy felt something he shouldn't have felt. He was kissing a man who collected wires and had to keep count of how many staples he had. He was kissing a man who drank milk at a pub and liked Steel Magnolias. He was kissing Moss and he felt aroused. And that was definitely something he shouldn't have felt.
So he'd reacted the way he was supposed to react. He got upset and denied that the kiss had been necessary.
But then something else happened that shouldn't have happened. He started counting the staples he used when he borrowed Moss' stapler. He brought Moss a coaxial cable that was green because he knew Moss didn't have that color. It had a dielectric insulator that was in mint condition.
He invited Moss over to watch Beaches. Jen had given him an knowing look when he asked to borrow it. He rolled his eyes and said it was for his mum, but he had a feeling Jen knew better.
When they watched the movie, Moss sat in the sink, but he didn't seem to mind this time. He was all wrapped up in the story, and Roy caught him crying at one point. Roy knew he shouldn't find it endearing, but he did. When the movie ended, Moss sniffled, but he was smiling too, then he looked down at Roy.
"Roy?"
"Yes, Moss," Roy replied, trying to sound as though the movie had bored him to tears. And it would have if Moss wasn't so bloody adorable.
"Are you courting me?"
Roy's mouth dropped open. "What? No!"
"Yes you are," Moss said, looking smug. "You're courting me, and I would like to accept the invitation to be your lover." Roy's heart started pounding, and he couldn't even speak as Moss slid down from the sink and onto the couch next to him. His expression was expectant. "You may kiss me on the lips now," he said. He placed his hands on either side of Roy's head and closed his eyes, puckering his lips.
"I don't... I..." Roy stammered, then something struck him as bizarre. "How you you even know?"
"Gayeek-dar," Moss informed him, opening his eyes again. "It's like gay-dar and geek-dar combined into one."
"But I'm not gay," Roy protested.
"I know. That's just what they call it."
"Who's they?" Roy said.
Moss blinked at him for a moment, then shook his head and said, "I don't know." Then he closed his eyes and puckered his lips again.
Roy shifted a little, hesitating and tapping his fingers against his thigh. Then he finally leaned in and gave Moss a chaste kiss. When he pulled back, Moss was smiling. His words cut through the funny feeling in Roy's chest, though. "Even I did better than that."
Roy opened his mouth to protest, but nothing came out. Instead of speaking, Roy leaned in again and really kissed Moss, their tongues brushing. It felt better than when Moss kissed him the first time. Which was good, because there was no way in hell Roy was going to let Moss win.
