Dear car, wtf? No love, me
Apr. 13th, 2010 09:32 amThis morning my car decided to mutiny. I hit the button on the key fob. It didn't unlock. I tried the key in the lock. Nothing. Then I tried it in the passenger side door. Nothing. The freaking car locked me out! Yes, it was my car, not just one that looked like mine, I'm sure of it. Also? The key let me into the trunk, but nothing else. I am so confused and irritated, and I really hope this doesn't cost me much to repair. Anyone on my flist have any insight? It's a 2005 Hyundai Elantra. I tried Googling and came up with nothing. *headdesk*

Date: 2010-04-13 05:49 pm (UTC)Or could the door locks be seized up--if you're like me you almost never use the key, just the fob. WD-40 (or equivalent) might help--but please remember, I'm not an expert! So maybe try that on one of the locks?
This is going to sound obvious, too, but do you have a spare fob/keys for your car and if so, have you tried them?
My other suggestion is to maybe give a Hyundai dealership a call and see if they've heard of anything like it/have a solution. ANd just cus you call to ask, doesn't mean you gotta take the car there.
That's all I've got for now.
