I wrote it once or twice in HP, and was feeling a little wistful on the birthday of my fav character in my old fandom... and got the crossover bunny from hell. I doubt it would work, though. LOL

Oh, see I can do LOTS of weird shit in Harry Potter fandom, because it was a magical fandom. I don't think I could ever REALLY write mpreg in CM, unless I was really in the mood to write crack. It was just a random, left-field bunny. And I've beaten it with a stick. :)

See, I think this is really just my problem, because mpreg always seems weird to me, even when it was in HP or Tsubasa or some fandom where weirder things happen all the time in canon. Dunno, maybe I'm just old fashioned like that?

It took me a long time to write or read MPREG, then, after a couple years in a magical fandom, I got mildly obsessed with it and RPed it for a short time. The RPing of it came pretty naturally out of the storyline, but the writing it solo was partially a "can I do it and can I do it well?" experiment, if that makes sense, and I'm still pretty happy with my bit of solo-written MPREG (even if it's mostly pwp smut).

Now I'm not in a fandom that doesn't"allow" it. :P

I just...meh? The thing is, I kind of, um, just don't really like babies. So maybe I just don't like pregnancy fics in general, but I think I don't like mpreg because I've never seen a fic focusing on female pregnancy? Which really just goes that much further in proving to me that the whole fandom experience is incredibly odd.

There must be some HP and other magical-fandom refugees hiding out in CM who wouldn't mind some mpreg, I'm sure. I'm starting to think CM fandom needs to loosen up a bit as far as it comes to 'weirdness,' really. Contradicting myself, much?

Speaking of female pregnancy fic, Innerslytherin and I just wrote a Hotch/JJ fic that takes course over JJ's pregnancy. And neither one of us are very gung-ho on the idea of kids. *snort*

LOL just a little. ;) See, but I say they need to loosen up, when there are things in this fandom I just can't handle that I could in HP, so... everyone has their limits. :)

i have like zero baby experience, so they kind of scare me. Hopefully that changes, since my sister has repeatedly told me I'm going to have to babysit her children, but that won't be for a few years at least. Slightly more experience with young children (still not much), and I feel the same way - if they're not related to me, I'd really rather not have anything to do with them. That sounds mean, oh well.

The JJ/Hotch is being vetted by someone who actually knows what it's like to be pregnant, and then I think it may need a couple added scenes to round it out. Next month, maybe? We have, like, ten unposted fics right now, so who knows.

I Like AU. Our Hotch/JJ fic is mild AU, and of course, the long Hotch/Rossi is mild AU too. I wrote a short Reid and Morgan in High School AU a while back, too.

Oh yeah, about that, I'm a really bad fan here, but I LOVE your Reid and Morgan high school AU. It really makes me very insanely happy, and it's one of the fics I'll reread if I'm in a bad mood and need cheering up.

I'll take any kind of AU, any at all. I like AUs where everything's different, you know, like, "they're all lawyers! Or doctors! Or 16th century wizards!" or whatever, because they're fun and it's a great way of shaking things up, but what really makes me the happiest little fangirl you ever did see is when there's just one or two things that are different, and the writer explores how those differences affect everything else. I recently wrote an AU where one of the ideas that inspired me was "What would the team be like if Hotch had never been in the BAU?" although that ended up not really being the focus of the fic so much...but if someone wrote a fic like that, or I don't know, what if "Revelations" had ended less fortunately, or whatever, I would marry that writer. Seriously, I'm so in love with AUs it's kind of ridiculous.

Oh, yes, those are my favorite AUs too, I think. Like Expansion of Two natures was 'what if Hotch and Haley weren't married when he met Dave?' The Hotch/JJ fic is 'what is JJ actually did break up with Will when she tried to?' and canon got a but feng shui'd from there. :P

Huh, Hotch not being in the BAU sounds interesting. That sounds like a much harder project to pull off, because it would change EVERYTHING, instead of, you know, JJ breaking up with Will just changes things peripherally.

Teehee, "canon feng shui." That's the most awesome way to describe AUs. And I LOVE the idea of a JJ broke up with Will fic - not because I've got a such a problem with him, really, but because they really did come so close to breaking up in that episode that it's not hard at all to imagine that she did. And it would make the pregnancy storyline way more interesting.

Hotch not being in the BAU is a hard project, which is why that ended up not being the story I wrote - or, well, it was, but only in a very minor, secondary sort of way. I had all these ideas about how his not being on the team would change things, but I had no idea HOW I would write a story that used those ideas. And there were other things I wanted to do, and trying to do both would have been really difficult. So I didn't, though that makes me kind of sad.

I think it would have to be novel length to cover the whole Hotch not being in the BAU thing, because writing just a short fic without him there would just sort of make people go "O.o but whhhyyyy?" *G* I can understand why it drifted away from that.

No, you shouldn't. You should DEFINITELY, however, write a Hotch/Reid cross-over with HP, with REID-MPREG, in honor of Severus Snape's birhtday.

Oh, see, you would THINK that was the way to go, but Severus insists that Reid is too small and his hips are too narrow to properly birth a child. And he says the fact that he carried Remus' baby, in spite of having a small frame and narrow hips himself, is a special case, considering his lover is a werewolf and could not have carried the child through the changes at the full moon. Special cases like his, wherein one partner is simply unable to carry a child due to risk to the unborn baby, warrant exceptions. Hotch and Reid, however, are not a special case in that sense. Therefore, he proposes Hotch is the better candidate for carrying the child, as he is of a sturdier build, and refuses to prepare the potions to knock Reid up instead of Hotch.

Also, if they continue to insist upon Reid, Severus will probably explain C-sections in the most gruesome way he possibly can until Reid vomits, and Hotch relents to spare his lover.

Severus could always stipulate that Reid put on weight. In which you could have a cute Hotch trying to keep Reid healthy.

And there are plenty of women with Reid's build that get pregnant regularly. Heck, it would further enable Hotch to keep Reid in the relative safety of whichever HQ they are using while working on the case.

Hotch can always carry the next child. ^_^

Well, but even women with Reid's build, their pelvic bones are shaped differently. Besides, if you had the choice between itty bitty girl and sturdier girl (say in a lesbian relationship), it's probably healthier to choose the sturdier one, even if it doesn't always go that way. You don't have a choice in het relationships (or in fandom, people usually don't consider there could be the mpreg choice).

I've seriously thought about it, and planned it out in my head, but I'm not sure I'm feeling inspired enough. :) I went through a phase where I wrote a lot of genderfuck-mpreg in my last fandom, but it grew out of an RP situation, and I almost think it's have to come out of that again. I think I'd need someone else fueling my crack craziness and squeeing with me (because, let's face it, this fandom is generally pretty tame), and as you can see from comments above, I can talk

It was one of my first stories *g* I looked at the prompts for

wtf27 and just fell about lauging at the thought of Hotch's face when he found out he was knocked up.
