I was staying with a friend earlier in the year (while the worst of the rekitchenation was happening), and she's very 'green', so she was using kitchen paper soaked in white vinegar in a plastic bag round her bathroom taps, to descale them.
I had to hold my breath every time I went to the loo for several days...

I have not had the guts to try any of his recipes, though I bought the book and I am still a little in love with him after my first passionate crush that I developed on the first reading.
