Ahh, Marilyn Manson. I know this sounds so cliche, but I LIKED THEM BEFORE THEY WERE FAMOUS! *cough* No, but really, I've gone to see them live three times, and the first time was in this little tiny club in a little shit town in northern Cali. It was within a year of Sweet Dreams becoming their first huge massive hit, and someone threw a beer bottle at his head and he had to run off stage for a few minutes. Also, my best high school friend, Phil, nearly got beat up outside the club by a skinhead who wanted his boots. Good times.

Oh, and another one of my major early crushes was from this band: Twiggy Ramirez. Yum. :)

HEEE! We must be around the same age then.

I have to admit, I still think it's kinda hot. >.>

(ETA: Oh, maybe we're not around the same age. LOL I just read your profile. Still, I was in my mid teens when my crush was at it's height.)

I remember the first time I saw Sweet Dreams video on 120 Minutes sooooo long ago. I knew they were the band for me, they intrigued and scared the hell out of me at the same time. I loved their music for the longest time, and though the "persona" soon overshadowed the music, IMO, they have some great tunes out there. I've mellowed in my ""old age" but still love to slip it in and go back in time.

I saw them on Headbanger's Ball way back when MTV used to play music, and was instantly in love. They're actually the reason I got into Rasputina, who are still one of my favorite bands, when I found out they did their remix album off their first album.

I thought Antichrist Superstar got really generic and commercial jiggle-y. I actually avoided them for a while after that, but then I started hearing songs from The Golden Age of Grotesque and got back into them.
