Okay, guys, I have seen
innerslytherin do posts like these in the past, a sort of timeline of events in an RPG she's participated in. So I'm stealing her idea. We have a plot line in our RPG (
bau_rpg) that is a slow build up toward eventual Rossi/Prentiss (with me writing Rossi, and
innerslytherin writing Prentiss), and I thought I'd post this, not only for anyone who might want to read it, but for personal reference. :D These are all the scenes leading up to Rossi/Prentiss so far, and we are finally getting closer to them being together! Yay!
(Some of these scenes coincide with the game's own version of the Foyet case, which just has a couple resolution scenes left to post. If you'd like to read the case, it's at this tag. The game is canon through the end of 'To Hell and Back', minus the very end where Hotch is attacked. Beyond most of that episode, the game is AU.)
So on with the Rossi/Prentiss story line:
After the Sarnia pig farm case, Dave and Emily head off to do a recruitment seminar and have coffee afterward, where they wind up talking about their love lives. Meanwhile JJ has been suspecting a mutual attraction to between her friends, so she heads to Dave's office later to do some digging to find out if Dave is single. When she finds out he is, she tries to nudge him in the right direction. Later, Dave's truck breaks down as he's leaving work, and Emily happens to walk out and find him grumpy about it. She offers him a ride home, and they wind up sharing a dip in Dave's hot tub.
After Dave has a fight with Reid, Emily stops by his office to see if she can figure out the cause of the tension, which results in an argument, later resolved via email. Shortly after, Emily wishes Dave a happy 54th birthday.
Later, Emily and Dave go out for drinks, and wind up being interrupted by news of an attack on Hotch by Foyet. Dave and Emily head to the scene and follow the blood trail left by Foyet's escape from Hotch's apartment, and offer each other some comfort. Dave has a difficult meeting with Strauss about the Foyet case, and winds up venting to Emily afterward. Then after a nurse Foyet kidnapped to help heal his wounds is murdered, Dave and Emily head to the hospital to talk to staff about the latest victim.
After the resolution of the Foyet case, Dave runs into Jordan Todd, and goes out to lunch with her, where flirting and plans for a real date occurs. It later occurs to Dave that the case ran over Emily's birthday, and he takes her out for a belated birthday dinner, where Emily finds out about Dave's date... and more flirting ensues. Of course, after that, Emily has wonderfully bad timing when she walks in on a private, sweet moment between Dave and Henry, making Emily's ovaries nearly explode. JJ notices her friend's reaction to that, and after giving Emily some time to hide from her, she corners Emily about Dave and gets the confession she's been wanting. Dave and Jordan go on their date the same evening, and while Dave enjoys himself, he still finds himself uncomfortable at the same time.
All you Rossi/Prentiss shippers, do not fear; the Rossi/Todd will not last long!
