Ri turns 4 today (long time flisters, can you believe it?!). What can I get a 4 year old for her birthday that's cheap? She's old enough now to realize it if Aunt Jenn didn't get her a gift.
My twin godkids, who are about the same age, love the "This Is..." series of books. Venice is a huge hit, but their mother reports that all of the ones they have are requested quite frequently.
I hope $12 counts as cheap.
If not, Dover Books have some really cool coloring books for cheap. At four, those are great for trips.
If you get Dover Books, you can also get temporary tattoos and stickers. Those little ones cost about a dollar. If you put three Dover Books on the same theme in a package with crayons or markers, and decorate the outside of the package yourself, it will be her favorite present.
A frisbee or a ball is a good present, if it comes with a coupon book of play dates with you. You can get a bouncy ball at the supermarket.
Oh, that reminds me -- soft jacks, if they still make them, aren't expensive and are fun and Bubbles!!!! It's springtime and bubbles were a big hit with resident four year old.
