I have iTunes gift cards and I can't decide what to buy. Any music recs? As long as they're not country, rap, really bad "adult contemporary", or teen pop stars/boy bands/etc, I'll give them a listen!
I selectively like country, and I did just tell you I sold a bunch of my country CDs. :P
As for the Eagles...I count as classic rock anything that gets played on my two favorite radio stations, one of which is all classic rock and one of which is "classic rock and the best of today's new rock". Granted, the Eagles do cross some genre lines, but still.
LOL okay, sweetie, Nevermind was released when I was a freshman in high school. To today's generation? That IS classic rock.
But no, really, I realize that classic rock stations have embraced some grunge and modern rock bands, but generally speaking they don't play today's equivalent of the Eagles.
I just can't call the Eagles POP. I mean...the CARPENTERS were pop. As much as I love the Carpenters, I would never put them in the same musical category as the Eagles.
I realize we're old and Nevermind is old. I KNOW. But Nirvana is NOT classic rock. It's not even 20 years old yet! LOL if you want to know what is classic, don't ask TODAY'S generation. *gigglesnort* Kids are lame.
LOL I know, I don't consider Nirvana classic rock, either. AC/DC, however, is, despite that they're still producing music, because they started way back then. *G* And the Stones. Yeah baby.
There is no contest. Metallica is awesome, but AC/DC wins. After all, they were around like at least five years before Metallica, and they're not bitchy about the use of their music on TV shows.
Oddly, I have no problem ethically with downloading music, but I DO have a problem ethically with ripping music and then selling it. Not that I'm saying YOU shouldn't -- what I mean is, I personally feel guilty if I make money off of selling the CD. If I GIVE the CD to a friend, I feel no guilt. :P Yes, I know, my morals are bizarre and probably not as straight as they should be for a wannabe G-man or a Christian. >.>

Nah. Everyone's got their quirks. And at least you're kooky on the little things, and not the big ones.
I don't sell my cds, I either donate them to a thrift store or pass them off to my friends. I come by the majority of my music on the charity of my friends anyway, so I might as well continue the cycle. And, you know, my karma could use a boost. *snicker*

I LOVE the Eagles! I just think they're too mellow to really count as classic rock.

Date: 2009-04-08 02:37 am (UTC)Selling cds means nothing to me -- after I've burned a copy onto my harddrive it goes into the donate or giveaway pile.
I give a lot of cds to people, but I also make copies of them first.
