See, I don't liked doughnuts filled with anything, but agree with everything else you just said. What a shame you can't get them fresh! I grew up in CA and never knew the deliciousness of them until I moved to TN.
I grew up in Kentucky and could get them there fresh from the store *sigh* We're hoping to be able to retire in a couple of years and we're looking at moving to TN or thereabouts. *thinks positive thoughts* Tim Horton's has opened up some stores here and their donuts are pretty good, so we make do.
*G* My family is originally from Louisville KY. Poor me had never eaten a White Castle until I was 13 and went there to visit. LOL I'm in TN now. Hated it when I first moved here, but it's not so bad anymore. :P
